"Walpurga" finished! 🧙‍♀️

I just finished my painting Walpurga for tonight's bad apple artist auction "coven". I painted the whole painting with watercolor, color pencils and lots of metallic paint as you can see in the  armor and the dragon scales! 😊

The namegiver of this painting Saint Walpurga was a highly educated young woman which was very uncommon for the medieval times. She was trained in ornamenting manuscripts and creating beautiful embroideries with gold and silver threads on rich velvet or linen. Due to her rigourous training in scripture, latin and general education she became an influential monastery leader. And apparently her relative and teacher was Saint Lioba, who also was an educated woman from medieval Europe who lead a monastary and promoted education and scolorships for young women.

For everyone interested in purchasing Walpurga, visit our auction album tonight at 5 pm EST at the Bad Apple Artist Collective Facebookpage 🥰
