Beginner Watercolor, Color Pencils, Gouache and Marker Portrait Lesson (Crimson Spell)

This is a beginner-friendly tutorial using watercolor and colored pencils! I also use a little gouache and some markers, but the markers are completely optional, and the gouache is mainly there for corrections. You don’t necessarily need it, but I do recommend having some on hand. 🥰

I also use a masking fluid pen, which can be very helpful. Just keep in mind that masking fluid can damage the surface of many papers. I used the Ohuhu’s Halawa Color Pencils and their Wailua paper for this painting, and it was sturdy enough to handle it really well.

If your paper is more delicate or you’re unsure how it will react, simply skip the masking fluid and paint around those areas instead.
