Hello, my lovelies! In this real-time painting video, I show you the process of my painting “Anthéia’s Chalice” in which I depicted the tarot card “Queen of Cups”. I used Schmincke’s staining watercolors to paint this (see material guide for more info), which allowed me to create more layers that look also crisp. Often, underlying layers dissolve and get blurry, but with staining watercolors, it happens less, and I LOVE how they look! You can also mix regular and more staining watercolors in a painting and use them for areas where you rather want more staining or more dissolving qualities (backgrounds, for example). I now have two palettes, one with regular watercolor paint and one with staining paint! 🙂
