In this watercolor tutorial, I’ll show you how to layer colors, control your paints properly to create a realistic result and how to fix mistakes if the layering didn’t work out. I’ll guide you through the painting process of my painting “Caelestia Astra”, from the portrait, hair and clothes to the background. We’ll also add hatching effects with colored pencils and abstractions with gouache! 😊
For this painting, I used the super thick Hahnemühle “The Collection” 640 grams Hot Pressed satin again which doesn’t warp at all and which looks super elegant ( I love it!).

My Sketch:
To created this sketch by using the Photoshop filter “Photocopier” and then inverted the colors (because the filter makes it black) – I then printed the sketch on my watercolor paper with the Canon PRO-1000 which prints waterproof.
